Journal #3 Annie Leibovitz
For this journal entry in the style of Annie Leibovitz, I attempted to capture a somewhat realistic scene of "everyday life" with a vintage theme. For this image I shot with an ISO of 6400, a shutter-speed of 1/1250, and an F-stop of 11.0. Some things that I think work really well in this photo are the angles. The leading lines of the couch point the viewer in the direction of the model. I also really enjoy the facial expressions of my sister and our cat, Romeo. If I were to do anything different, I might try to use studio lighting so I can avoid the blown out lamp in the upper right corner.
For this journal entry also in the style of Annie Leibovitz, I tried to create dramatic lighting with our living room lamp. For this image I shot with an ISO of 6400, a shutterspeed of 1/1250, and an F-Stop of 11.0. There are a few things I enjoy about this photo like the true black on the edges however I'm finding more things I would like to change. I wish the lightbulb weren't so blown out and I wish that the lights could be brought out in her face more to create a more balanced photograph.

These are two great photos that resemble Annie Leibovitz's work really well. I think that your contrasting on both of the photos came out really great. I love the uniqueness of the second photo! I think the obscurity of the model's face really takes after Annie Leibovitz's portrait work.
ReplyDeleteThese are both really awesome! I love the high contrast in both of them, and it works really well with the dramatic lighting in the portrait. The first one really reminds me of Annie Leibovitz's earlier photography. I think it's the flat hard lighting, I think it works really well to make the photo look very real and almost candid.
