Photography Unit #1
Dramatic
For this photo of my sister, I was going for a look of dramatic lighting as well as trying to mock Annie Leibovitz style, thus my previous journal entry. For this picture I shot with an F-Stop of 11.0, a shutterspeed of 1/1250, and an ISO of 6400. For this image, the lightbulb is the only lighting I had and got creative with it. My favorite part about this image is the composition, I think her face and the lamp are centered in a satisfactory way. Although I love the true black in this photo, I wish it would have worked to pull out more of the highlights without blowing out the light from the lamp.
Fashion
For this image of my sister following the fashion theme, I had her put on clothes of her choice which happened to be more of an 80's look which was fine with me. For this photo I shot with and F-Stop of 11.0, a shutterspeed of 1/50, and an ISO of 6400. There is actually more about this picture that I don't like and wish I could change if I had more time such as the angle of the photo, her facial expression, and the lens flare behind my cat. However, I do enjoy my sister's posture and the couch as well as my cat as an additional prop.
Friends
For this image of a friend portrait, I had my sister, Ashlynn, and her best friend, Eva, pose in front of a white wall. I used an F-Stop of 11.0, a shutterspeed of 1/15, and an ISO of 800. The only lighting I worked with in this photo was the external flash on my camera and the ambient room lighting. My favorite thing about this photo is how happy my sister and Eva look. I think I captured this shot very well. If I could go back and adjust somethings I might have tried taking a full body portrait with a flash kit.
Environmental
For this image in the theme of environmental, we had to take a picture of someone in an environment that portrayed the model's "work". For this image I shot with an F-Stop of 5.0, a shutter-speed of 1/13 and an ISO of 1600. I actually really like this picture. Despite the lack of environment that I was hoping for, I think the lighting worked really well. If I could go back and shoot, I might have played with the environment a bit more to add more detail.
